Like many other businesses and organisations, the MPO has been severely affected over the year-and-half of the Covid-19 pandemic. Unfortunately, many of the MPO’s musicians are non-Malaysians who have been working here for 20 years or more, and have made Malaysia their home.

Musicians of the Malaysian Philharmonic Orchestra (MPO) in Kuala Lumpur are fighting for their jobs and their families. Most of the international colleague contracts in the orchestra have been terminated as of December 31, 2021. These musicians a least have been the Malaysian Philharmonic Orchestra for the past 20 years with successful concerts at home and abroad.

An international online petition has been started to convince the main sponsors and the Ministry of Arts and Culture of Malaysia about taking action to withdraw these terminations.

Please support the affected musicians of the MPO!
