The newly founded Lumbye Academy of the Copenhagen Phil has eight open positions for stringplayers from the Season 2022/23!

The academy accepts young and talented musicians from the EU/EEA. In addition to performing with the orchestra under the baton of world-renowned conductors, the two-year programme offers a scholarship, private lessons from mentors from the orchestra, regular chamber music concerts, workshops with external mentors, mental coaching and mock-auditions, thereby preparing the academics systematically in the tradition of the orchestral life in Denmark and abroad.
Founded in 1843 as the Tivoli orchestra, and the resident orchestra of the conductor and composer Hans Christian Lumbye for almost 30 years, Copenhagen Philharmonic can be considered one of the most versatile orchestras in Denmark with repertoire spanning from traditional concerts with renowned conductors and soloists over Opera, Ballet and an innovative outreach programme, thus equipped to prepare academics for the ever-changing requirements of the future orchestral musician.
